Sunday wake up call

Having only done 2 runs so far this week, with a grand total of 4 miles, I decided to do a nice steady long run, with my daughter on her bike for company. Went down to the hospital and back, 7m in 1hr 13min. A bit faster than intended but still a nice run, certainly noticed that running on the pavement/tarmac is a lot harder on the legs than over the woods. Someone gave us a toot on the car horn as they drove past, no idea who, and saw a couple of people I know who looked really shocked - so my 'secrets' out.

Yes if you're not the sort to blow your own trumpet it's a bit embarrassing to admit, isn't it?

"Oh yeah, I'm training for the Lnrnrnrn Mrnrnrn."
"The Lnrnrnrn Mrnrnrn?"
"The, er, London Maranrnrn."
"What, you? hahaha, you must be mad! I thought only fit people did that."

Etc.

Then again, any of us who is writing a blog obviously has a deep down desire to blow our own trumpet - sooner or later you will have to embrace it in real life too.

oops, let me try again.....
And embrace it I shall.
The only people who knew I was jogging were my family. Probably because I was unsure I would be able to do it - hence the support/company by my daughter on her bike. Now I'm sure I can and I will....my wake up call.
Good luck Dan

People in cars seem to like to hoot, maybe they consider it their marathon training? A polite wave just in case you know them while muttering to yourself is usually a good choice. Hows life outside of the runners closet treating you?

Hey Leon the format looks great.
Reading through loads of bloggs and found your 'idiots guide' to the side bar.
Getting rid of the XXX was more difficult.
